Advocates are ordinary members of the community; you do not need to have specialist skills, experience or knowledge.
We need people with a caring non-judgemental approach who are interested in standing up for the basic rights of others.
What do we expect of an advocate?
- that you are honest and loyal
- that you listen.
- that you help your advocacy partner speak up for what they want.
- that you are able to commit to at least 2 hours per month.
We will:
- provide information and initial core training.
- give ongoing support.
- encourage the development of your skills with ongoing training sessions.
