Swindon Advocacy Movement is a key service for the community of people who use learning disability services in Swindon; SAM provides advocates for over 150 young people and adults every year, employs five people with a learning difficulty and works with a core group of 25 volunteers who use learning disability services.
The organisation works closely with Swindon Borough Council, Swindon PCT and a wide network of services and agencies to receive referrals and inform clients giving them access to a wide range of opportunities.

We have the exciting news that SAM has been awarded £194,000 of Big Lottery funding for a new, ground breaking five year project ‘Sam Buddies’. The project will be led by people with learning difficulties bringing people together to explore what they would like to do in the day and try new activities.
